Multi organ Transplantation in Kerala

The first multi organ transplantation in Kerala with the active involvement of SORT took place on 27 - 6 - 2004 at the Amrita Instiutute of Medical Sciences(AIMS), Kochi.

Donor: Ramachandran Nair (60) from Aluva
Recipients: Liver- Ramdas (33) from Trichur, Kidneys-Hemalatha (42) from Paravoor (Both AIMS) & Joseph (28) from Alleppey ( PVS Hospital)

2nd Multi organ Transplant: Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on 5 - 10 - 2007

Donor: Vijayaraghavan (59) from Edathva, Kottayam Dt.
Recipients: Liver- Hamsa (58) from Malappuram, Kidney- Smitha (35) from Kannoor (Both AIMS) & Siddique ( 20) from Kochi (Lakeshore Hospital Kochi)

Eyes were donated to Little Flower Church Hospital, Angamali

3rd Multi rogan Transplantation: Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on 31- 12-2008

Donor: Priya Binu (32) from Ettumanoor, Kottayam Dt.
Recipients: Liver- Vijayakumar (53) from Mavelikara. Kidneys- Shajumon (33) from Trichur (Both AIMS) & Xavier (34) from Trichur (Lakeshore Hospital)

4th Multiorgan Transplantation: Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on April 2009

Donor: Stanley George (16) from Changanassery , Kottayam Dt.
Recipients: Liver- Rajendran (45) from Kozhikode, Kidneys- Honeyhakar (42) & Manjusha (22) from Aluva (All at AIMS)

Eyes were donated to Little Flower Church Hospital, Angamali

5th Multiorgan Transplantation: Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on19 - 5 - 2009

Donor : Ramesh (20) from Trichur
Recipients: Liver- Jayaprakash (40) from Pattambi, Kidney- Binu (35) from Ernakulam Dt, & Renuka (42) from Trichur (All at AIMS)

7th Multi Organ Transplantation: Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi on 1-12-2009
Donor: Ahin Thankachan (20) from Muvattupuzha
Recipients: Liver- Chandra Samikanu (53) Malaysia. Kidneys Jinsy Thomas(30) from Pathanamthitta - Both from Lakeshore Hospital. & T. L. Stephen (42) from Alleppey
Eyes were donated to the Little Flower Church Hoispital, Angamali

8th Multi Organ Transplantation: Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, on 5-9-2010
Donor: Padmanabhamurthy K (60) from Chennai
Recipient: Liver-Sanil Kumar (34) from Kollam (AIMS). Kidneys were not suitable for harvest
